Video Shoot for "Where's My Parade"

Months of planning for the video came down to today. At 10am we lined up in downtown Lake Worth for the Parade.   A 16' flatbed truck served as our rolling stage. We sound checked, got the girls drunk, made up, outfits on, and brought the heat.  There was the 4 of us in the band, Lisa and Amanda singing backups and Mandy, Rebecca and Allie starring as the high society ladies gone wrong..... or right depending on how you see it.  The gay community & friends loved us!  Good to know in case I need to seek refuge.  Kenny 5 and crew filmed the band/ crowd through the entire parade route, Monica Kustra took the photos, Marc Ward provided the generator and Kevin and Justin manned the truck.
After the Parade, we took the caravan to the Gstar School of the Arts movie lot.    Susan, Jenette, Alex, and Kyle were there setting up for the next phase.   Alex came through with some great party favors ie: flags, silly string, pom poms, balloons, etc.. Family and friends (old and new) and a 6' rabbit showed up to help recreate the parade.   We played the song over and over... and over so Kenny could get the footage he needed.   The shoot was a success.  Thanks to everyone involved!

Now, we wait for the editing....
Next weekend we head up the Gulf Coast to play 3 shows in Sandestin and St. Petersburg. See ya.

WMP Video Shoot, Declan McAusland, & Elegbaland

All is well here in the swamplands.   We're busy planning for next weeks video shoot of "Where's My Parade".   Kenny 5 (Majic Robot Films) is directing the caper.  Shooting will start at the parade in downtown Lake Worth 3/29 @ 11am and resume at GSTAR studios in the afternoon.  All are welcome to come down and take part.   Sunday, March 29th, 2pm at Gstar.  email or call me for more info: (561)214-2575  email:  greg@blackfingermusic.
Andy & Karen's baby "Declan" is 3 weeks tommorrow and making sure no one gets sleep over there.  Andy's playing the Zombie from one of Sean's songs.
Our good friend Donny Paycheck of ZEKE fame has put the new website together BlackFingerMusic.com.   Love the simplicity.  Thanks Buddy!
I'm helping Marc Ward (owner of Elegbaland Studios) with a few of his tunes.  These songs have so much honesty as well as hooks.  A real Randy Newman/John Prine bug in him.  We start tracking on Saturday with Jesse Dalton (best name in rock n roll) on drums, Sean Fernandez on bass, Marc, and myself.  Andy McAusland and John Ralston will put icing on the tunes.   We play Fort Lauderdale Friday night w/ Card Sound Road and Delray on Saturday night at Elwoods.  till next time...   greg

Great show/ New friends/ david baron? and our drummer is suing us!

The CD release show at City Limits in Delray was a great night for local music (Video of the show will be up soon). Marie Nofsinger started out the night with her warmth and way of singing that speaks to each person in the room. She's the best! For her last song, Andy, Sean, John, and I joined her in "Broken Heart" written by my close friend, Donny Hales, from the band Zeke.

Next was John Ralston's Invisible music. Andy and I had the honor of playing in John's band over the last month. A modern day Mamas and Papas. SO GOOD. John's working on a new album, check out his blog. recordingwildandfree.blogspot.com
Then Black Finger. . . us. . . our new drummer, Jesse Dalton (best name in rock n roll). We started the set with "Where's My Parade". Our friends (Invisible Music) joined us on stage. One big party set the tone for our rock n roll assault. myspace.com/blackfingermusic.
After us, David Baron played with his hired musicians and cleared half the club. . . nice guy, but . . . american idol thing going on and I'm not talking finalist. . . . we were promised he'd draw a crowd... not so much. . . .he shouldn't have been on the show ok, enough. you live and learn. the bright side is that much of our crowd was able to leave at a descent hour. I know my Mom appreciated it.
NOW, the moment you've waited for. YES, Bill Meredith (our former drummer) has threatened us with an injunction to stop distribution of WMP pending a courtroom showcase showdown that will most likely put all the money into lawyer's pockets. What? ? I know. . . We're baffled to say the least and sure he doesn't have a case. Gonna stay at bay for now, but we'll keep you posted. Hopefully he will do the right thing and this won't be an issue.
Lastly, we're playing SunFest on the mainstage Thursday, April 30th before James Taylor and thinking about playing all Carly Simon tunes. wouldn't that be sweet. . . till next time. All the best. Greg
